Missed Game Assignment Policy
The West Suburban Officials Association Board of Directors passed the following motion concerning an official missing an assigned game.
First Offense in a season:
$50 fine. The official will also be required to appear before the board of directors. Subject to the boards discretion, the official may be suspended from officiating and have their scheduled games pulled until they appear before the board.
Second Offense:
1 calendar year suspension from all WSOA games starting the date of the missed game. When the suspension has been served, the official must appear at a meeting of the WSOA board of directors to be re-instated into the West Suburban Officials Association.
Pre-Game Duties of Officials
1. You must contact your partner by phone or e-mail 48 hours prior to your game.
(If you choose to e-mail, you must receive a confirmation back before your duty is met.)
2. If you are working in a 3 man system, it is the responsibility of the linesmen to contact the head
referee for that game 48 hours prior to the start. If the head referee does not hear from you
before the day of the game, he will be responsible for making contact, and notifying
Jeff Carlen, Scott Oeffling, Rick Ragan, or Mike Mooney if no contact can be made.
3. All officials must be at the rink 25 minutes prior to the start of their game.
4. If, 20 minutes prior to the start of your game, you do not have a partner, nor have you had
contact with your partner to determine if they are on their way, then you must contact Jeff
Carlen, Scott Oeffling, or Mike Mooney so they can find a replacement official.
You can not find your own partner.
Please follow these guidelines for all games you will be officiating for the West Suburban Officials Association
